Wiping soot with a regular cloth almost always smears fine particulate deeper into the surface — our Kent, WA technicians use a dabbing technique with chemical sponges specifically to avoid that.

Our technique avoids the streaking that comes from wiping soot with a rag.
We match the cleaning method to the material, not the other way around.
Soot turns corrosive on metal within about 48 hours — we move quickly.
HEPA vacuums capture fine particulate instead of recirculating it into the air.
The primary tool for lifting soot from porous surfaces like drywall and painted trim without smearing.
This step happens before any wet cleaning, since vacuuming first prevents particulate from smearing when surfaces get wet.
Tile, glass, and metal get a different chemical treatment than porous drywall and wood.
We prioritize metal fixtures early in the job since the corrosion clock starts immediately.
Overhead surfaces often carry the heaviest particulate load and need careful sponge technique to avoid streaking.
We clean vents and returns as part of the same visit, not as a separate service call.
A technician answers and schedules the fastest available crew.
Mobile units are equipped for both porous and non-porous surfaces.
Surfaces assessed by type before a written price is quoted.
Nothing closes out until you've inspected the finished work.
"Our own cleanup attempt made the soot streaks worse — the dabbing technique they used actually worked." — Homeowner, Kent
"They caught the soot on our kitchen faucet before it started pitting, which the adjuster said saved us a hardware replacement claim." — Homeowner, Kent, WA
"HEPA vacuuming before the wet cleaning made a visible difference — the carpets came out cleaner than I expected." — Homeowner, Kent
Wiping smears fine particulate deeper into porous surfaces instead of lifting it out.
We prioritize metal surfaces early specifically because of that corrosion window.
Yes, porous surfaces like drywall and non-porous surfaces like tile get different treatments.
Cleaning the particulate and neutralizing the odor are related but separate steps.
Carpets and upholstery get vacuumed first to avoid smearing particulate when they're cleaned.
Usually within the hour, with Kent crews staged locally.
We keep response times short across Kent specifically because soot corrosion is a time-sensitive problem.
